How it works

Olga's method

No endless lists, no grammar before its time. Russian comes in the way a real language does: you hear it, you say it, you use it.

  1. One word per screen

Each screen gives you just one thing to learn, with Olga's voice and the pronunciation written in Italian spelling. Your mind stays clear and the word sticks.

    я́блоко (jàblaka) the apple

  2. Practice first, then the rule

First you use the sentence, then you find out why it works that way. The rule arrives when you need it, and by then you already know it.

    Ви́жу ма́му. (vìzhu màmu.) I see Mum.

  3. Real sentences

The ones people actually say in Moscow and Saint Petersburg: at the café, in a taxi, with family. Not the sentences from old textbooks.

Мо́жно мне ко́фе, пожа́луйста? (mòzhna mnie kòfi, pazhàlusta?) Could I have a coffee, please?

Olga Assistant

Ask Olga. She answers in her own voice.

Not sure why something is said that way? Ask her. The Olga Assistant explains the rule in simple words, gives you more examples and chats with you in Russian, at your level.

  • Ask why. Any doubt about a sentence, an ending, a pronunciation.
  • Chat in Russian. A real conversation that grows with you.
  • Olga's voice. Answers come as speech, recreated from Olga's real voice: the pronunciation you hear is a native speaker's.

Why do you say “Дай мне су́мку (daj mnie sùmku)” and not “су́мка (sùmka)”?

Because the bag is the thing you receive: it's the direct object. Feminine words ending in а (a) show this by changing the а into у (u). Just like in “Ви́жу ма́му (vìzhu màmu)”, I see Mum.

The Olga Assistant is an artificial intelligence: answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes.

The Russian people really speak: on the street, at the café, with family.

Го́род на Неве́ (gòrat na Niviè), the city on the Neva

Features

Everything you need to remember

Learning a word is easy. Remembering it a week later is another story: that's why Logos brings it back at just the right moment.

Зна́ю (znàju) and Не зна́ю (ni znàju) reminders

During the day you get a word you have studied. Tap “I know” or “I don't know”: the word keeps coming back until you really know it. You choose how often, from every 10 minutes to 3 times a day.

Games: Memo and Mahjong

Played with the words you have learned. In Memo you match Russian and Italian pairs and the tiles disappear; in Mahjong you clear the stack, layer after layer.

Level test

Already know some Russian? Talk to Olga, out loud or by tapping the answer. At the end you see your pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, and which unit to start from.

The microphone that corrects you

Say it out loud: the microphone listens and tells you right away whether your pronunciation is right. When it is, Olga says “Отли́чно! (atlìc'na!)”, excellent.

FAQ

Answers before you start

Which language is the app in?

It depends on the app. Logos ita/rus is in Italian and teaches Russian to people who speak Italian. Its twin, Logos rus/ita, is in Russian and teaches Italian to people who speak Russian: it is now in testing on the web at rusita.logos-apps.com. In both, your guide is Olga, your Russian friend. Apps for more language pairs, such as eng/ita and spa/ita, are on the way.

Do I need to know the Cyrillic alphabet?

No. Every Russian word comes with its reading in Italian spelling and the stress marked, so you know straight away how to say it. Whenever you like, there is a section devoted to the alphabet, Алфави́т (alfavìt), which you can also skip.

Who is Olga?

Olga is your Russian friend: Russian is her native language. Logos ita/rus and Logos rus/ita follow her method, and she checks the content of both courses. The voice you hear in the apps is hers.

Is the Olga Assistant a person?

No: it is an artificial intelligence that answers with a voice recreated from Olga's. It explains, gives examples and chats with you, but it can make mistakes. For anything important, always double check.

Which devices does it work on?

On iPhone (in beta on TestFlight for now, soon on the App Store) and on Android (soon on Google Play). Versions for iPad and Android tablets will follow right after. And on the web, at app.logos-apps.com: it works in the browser on computers, tablets and Android phones. Logos rus/ita is in testing on the web for now, at rusita.logos-apps.com.

How much time do I need each day?

Ten minutes is enough. Lessons are short, and the Зна́ю (znàju) and Не зна́ю (ni znàju) reminders keep you reviewing throughout the day, even without opening the app.

How does the free trial work?

Choose a Premium plan and for 7 days you get everything without paying. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged anything; otherwise the subscription starts and renews automatically.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On iPhone: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Logos. You can cancel whenever you like; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

What is the Couple plan?

It is Premium for two people at a single annual price: each person has their own account and their own progress. Perfect for learning together.

Does the microphone record my voice?

The microphone only turns on in pronunciation exercises, when you tap it. On iPhone, speech recognition happens on the device. All the details are in the privacy policy.
