This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.

This policy explains how Logos processes the personal data of people who use the logos-apps.com website, the Logos ita/rus app for iPhone and the web version at app.logos-apps.com (together, the “Service”), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Italian Personal Data Protection Code.

1. Data controller

The data controller is the operator of Logos. For any privacy request you can write to info@logos-apps.com.

2. What data we process

• Account data: name or nickname, email address and technical account identifiers, if you create an account.
• Learning data: lessons completed, words learned, answers to exercises, level test results, preferences (for example chosen topics and reminder frequency).
• Messages to the Olga Assistant: the questions and texts you type or dictate to the Assistant and the answers generated.
• Voice and microphone: the microphone only turns on in pronunciation exercises and conversations, when you ask for it. On iPhone, speech recognition normally takes place on the device, through the operating system's features; on the web, recognition is carried out by the browser you use, which may rely on its maker's services. We do not keep recordings of your voice.
• Subscriptions: plan type, status and expiry date of the subscription. Payments are handled by Apple: we neither receive nor store your card details.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, technical logs needed to run and protect the Service.

3. Why we process it and on what legal basis

• Providing the Service (account, course, progress, Assistant, reminders, subscriptions): performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
• Security and abuse prevention, including usage limits for the Assistant: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
• Improving the content and the app with aggregated statistics: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
• Legal obligations, for example tax and accounting: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
• Promotional messages, only if you agree: consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Artificial intelligence

The Olga Assistant is an artificial intelligence system. To generate answers, the messages you send are transmitted to providers of language models and speech synthesis, who act as data processors on our behalf. The Assistant's voice is a synthetic voice recreated from Olga's voice. Answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. We do not use your messages to make decisions that produce legal effects concerning you. Please do not include sensitive data or other people's data in your messages.

5. Who we share data with

Data may be processed by providers who help us deliver the Service: hosting and infrastructure, artificial intelligence and speech synthesis providers, Apple for app distribution and payments, email delivery tools. Each of them processes data only according to our instructions and with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your data.

6. Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In these cases the transfer is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU and US Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

• Account and learning data: as long as the account is active; after deletion, within 30 days, unless the law requires otherwise.
• Messages to the Assistant: for the time strictly needed to provide the service and prevent abuse.
• Technical logs: for a limited period, normally no longer than 12 months.
• Tax and accounting data: for the period required by law.

8. Minors

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account on your own. Below that age, the consent of the person with parental responsibility is required.

9. Your rights

At any time you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest; you can withdraw any consent given, without affecting earlier processing. Write to info@logos-apps.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

You can delete your account from the app or by writing to us. Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription: that must be cancelled in your Apple account settings.

10. Cookies and website

This website does not use profiling cookies or tracking tools from third parties. The server only records the technical data needed for it to work and stay secure. Fonts and images are hosted on our own server. The language you choose on the site is remembered only in your browser (local storage), without cookies.

We may update this policy. If there are important changes we will let you know in the app or by email.
